Zooming Out
Jake Tan recently took a look at my catalogue of work, and his feedback really made me rethink the direction of my project. He pointed out that my experiments were leaning more toward the embodiment and body-physics-digital connection, rather than the human-computer interaction (HCI) through gestures that I had originally planned to focus on in my RPO. At first, I wasn’t sure if I should stick to the original plan or follow this new path, but after reflecting on it, I agreed with Jake's critique. It felt like my work was naturally heading in the direction of exploring how the physical body and the digital realm can blend together, especially with the interactive, embodied prototypes I was developing.
This shift in focus has actually felt really exciting. It feels like a more immersive and rich exploration of how the body interacts with technology, and it’s pushing me to rethink the whole framework I had in my dissertation. I plan to update my writing to reflect this shift and dig deeper into how the body's movement, physics, and the digital space can create new forms of interaction and expression. It's like the project has evolved in a way that feels more organic, and I'm definitely more excited about diving into these embodied experiences now than I was about just focusing on HCI through gestures.
